Yom HaShoah Commemoration: Witness Theater

The JCC is honored to bring Witness Theater back to our community on April 15 and 16, 2015. The program, which was originated by the Joint Distribution Committee in Israel in 2003, is a unique intergenerational experience for high  school students to build relationships with Holocaust survivors. Students and survivors meet weekly throughout the school year and as trust is developed and stories are shared, students and survivors develop a new and deeper respect for the other generation. Under the guidance of a drama therapist the groups writes and performance an original piece of theater based on the survivors' stories.
