Shoemaking: Beginner

Create a pair of mules in this popular course. You build upon your skills weekly so attendance is key - you are making your own shoes with your own hands. A group trip to the supply houses will be scheduled at the first class to purchase materials, leather, and more. You should expect to spend approximately $160-$200 on your supplies which includes having the soles put on professionally.
Flats cobbled by student Walter Lewis.

Patternmaking for Handbags

Making a set of paper patterns is the first step before your custom-made leather bag can materialize. After planning the size and silhouette of your bag, the class will be taught drafting techniques to transform these measurements into a variety of corresponding cut paper shapes to be used as templates for cutting all the component materials that comprise your bag. Learn how to make the pieces accurately fit together when the bag is finally constructed. Students can create patterns for such handbag styles as totes, hobos, messenger and travel bags. Continue with the Make It! Purses + Handbags class to build the actual bag.
